john (jamie’s husband) and his brother came for the packer/cardinal game.
yea that the pack won!!
they also brought me some goodies from the new cupcake shop in maple grove – nadia cakes.
they were gooood. at least the red velvet and the lemon drop.
hint: an actual lemon drop inside the cupcake!!
thanks jamie for sending your hubby to bring me cupcakes!

it’s all because of the kids.
i’m a sucker and can’t say no when they ask for cupcakes.
mady and bennett helped me out and reaped the rewards.
i then rewarded myself with my own tiny ”cupcake”.
a little tasty glass!
yummy. xo.

this is my second batch of s’more cupcakes in two weeks.
last week’s were for n because pre-school’s letter was “s”
s for s’mores
s for sugar
s for sports cupcake wrappers
s for striped cupcake wrappers
s for super heros (n’s favorite)
p.s. – n is a lucky 4 year old because i’m a pretty cool friend to his mama if i don’t say so myself
then this past weekend with jasmine we started the batch
which she nearly snuck out from the house when i wasn’t looking!
i finished them just in time for a bunch of hungry boys to eat them up.
p.s. – these boys are pretty spoiled with new cupcakes weekly!
overall – both batches were a hit with 4 year olds and a nearly 40 year old.

i never thought i’d say this, but i’m totally cupcaked out…
yet, i can’t say no, especially to jasmine!
spent the afternoon with her yesterday -
baking…
teaching her some skills in the kitchen (which is shocking coming from me)…
face timing with gma…
raiding my jewelry box…
girl talk…
and lots of hugs and kisses!
love you jazzy.

i’ve been baking up a storm.
i’ve had some help in the making and eating (obviously!).
i don’t see an end in sight…
funny thing is – it makes me happy to bake
except when an experimental recipe turns out like this:
this is what i call an epic failure.

one of the things mom and i did before i left dc was hit up my favorite cupcake shop for one last time.
baked & wired takes the cake – or cupcake. it IS the best in town. hands down.
we splurged a little too much – as i’m on a permenant sugar high – and got a dozen.
sorry there is no picture – i forgot:( – but trust me.
then we headed to georgetown cupcake.
i enjoy this place – not my favorite. sorry.
i think it’s over rated. but…this month they had the humming bird cupcake.
it’s one of the only kinds i’ve not tried (minus the crazy combinations).
so we had to stop.
they were good. not great but now i’ve had one.
the blue birdies were cute too.
so long cupcake heaven.
now i just have to find a place here!
