this little girl made my night…

she gave lots of hugs and kisses
told me she missed me and loved me:)
i got to read her 5 books before bed
have about 7 recordings of her singing the “months” song on my cell phone
said night time prayers
and felt some real love from a little girl who knew this big girl needed it.
leisel you rock and so does your mom!

T-minus 3 days till I hit the great state of Wisconsin.
Can’t wait to see the family, the Baileys, Mac & Co., and P-town.
I just hope I don’t get snowed in there!

i love ray la montagne’s song trouble…for so many reasons. it popped into my mind today because of a stupid traveler’s insurance commercial – go figure. i love the multiple meanings of “woman” in the song. i have to admit that i laugh about the lines about “worry” as i swear it’s why i have insomnia – just like the doggie in traveler’s. enjoy.
Trouble…
Trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble
Trouble been doggin’ my soul since the day I was born
Worry…
Worry, worry, worry, worry
Worry just will not seem to leave my mind alone
We’ll I’ve been…
saved by a woman
I’ve been…
saved by a woman
I’ve been…
saved by a woman
She won’t let me go
She won’t let me go now
She won’t let me go
She won’t let me go now
Trouble…
Oh, trouble, trouble, trouble, trouble
Feels like every time I get back on my feet
she come around and knock me down again
Worry…
Oh, worry, worry, worry, worry
Sometimes I swear it feels like this worry is my only friend
We’ll I’ve been saved…
by a woman
I’ve been saved…
by a woman
I’ve been saved…
by a woman
She won’t let me go
She won’t let me go now
She won’t let me go
She won’t let me go now
Oh…, Ahhhh….
Ohhhh
She good to me now
She gave me love and affection
She good tell me now
She gave me love and affection
I Said I love her
Yes I love her
I said I love her
I said I love…
She good to me now
She’s good to me
She’s good to me

I love football.
I love it at all levels – boo to MU for not having a team but I digress.
I love cheering with friends.
I love screaming at the TV – even alone in my house.
I love the Pack (and hate the Vikes).
I love the super bowl. It was a great one this year…Maria & Josh – thanks for hosting!
I will admit I’m a huge Payton Manning fan but I was routing for the Saints because (1) they beat the Vikes (THANK YOU), (2) they were the under dog, and (3) they’ve never gone or won before.
But, after their 3rd quarter play and then Drew and his kid, I’m a real fan not just a Vikes hater! So Cool. Go Saints!

So once again, the latest trend is to figure out which famous person you look most alike.
The general consensus from multiple friends and family ranges between Marilyn Monroe, to P!nk, to Scarlett Johansson.
Marilyn was an obvious choice since I’ve been a fan for 25 years – and I have and will likely go blonde again.

P!nk started when I moved to Arkansas…my patients, one in particular – Justin Deaton – told me I reminded him of her.

Then Becky my cousin got on that bandwagon. Becky also votes for Scarlett, which for me is the most far fetched.

You decide.

LASIK!
I’m scared to death to have some weird lazer shooting at my eyes…
See! —->

But on the upside, I’m tired of waking up blind in the morning, dry contacts, losing them in the water, and constantly having to get my glasses fixed after I read in bed and bend the crap out of them.
I have two appointment at two different places in SLC. I’m getting several options before I got under the knife.
Am I crazy? I just have to not think about it other wise I get nauseous (see that picture again, and you’ll know why). LOL.
Cheers to some 20/20 eye sight (hopefully thinking) which hasn’t been the case since I was 6.

so you’re supposed to type your name in www.urbandictionary.com and then post the definition to facebook. ha!
i had a good laugh reading mine…
here’s little ol’ me and then what some website defines me as:

1. slang term for a highly attractive and sexually intriguing individual.
2. the most beautiful person in the world. often referred to as a Goddess. has eyes that one can easily get lost in. a great friend that cares about people and makes the world a better place. easy to love too.
3. the hottest girl alive. usually gives people boners (this just made me die laughing) and she is a nice and loyal friend.
4. the most beautiful girl in the world. she completes me in every way possible and makes even the most horrible things tolerable just by being with me. she is a girl i can see myself with in 20 years and still having fun with and discovering new things with. When i look into her eyes i get lost but i dont mind the least bit. her smile could stop a man right in his tracks and make him see the beauty in the world. her laugh makes the worst of days seem so much better. i can talk to her for hours and never get the least bit bored. the greatest times i’ve ever had in my life involve her and i just cant imagine life without her. in short shes my soulmate and she doesent even know it.
5. the cutest girl you can ever meet. most emily’s have the most beautiful eyes which if stared in to long you may lose track of time. they also have the nicest body and the cutest smile. emily’s are the cutest most beautiful girls you may ever get to know. if you know an emily then you are considered lucky they will never leave you and is always there for you and you can trust them no matter what. if you date an emily never let them go, they will be your best friend for life no matter what through thick or thin.
**disclaimer: i guess i need to become “hot”

I love the Sundance Film Festival.
I love Park City.
I love the eclectic groups of individuals from all over the country.
I love the films.
I love the atmosphere.
This year I didn’t get to spend as much time as I would have liked because I was sick as a dog but I got a good 2 full days in up there. I saw old friends from last year and some great movies – The Kids Are All Right and Tucker & Dale vs. Evil.
The movies were so totally different….
I will be shocked if Tucker & Dale doesn’t get picked up by a distributer. In my opinion, it’s going to be a new cult classic. Honestly, I never laughed so hard at a “horror” film before. After the screening, the director took time for some Q&A which was great.

The Kids Are All Right had great character development up until the end. I was disappointed in the lack of exploration of Mark Ruffalo’s character since I think he’s a great actor and cute – not to mention it would have helped the story line;) But overall, it was great.

I’m already looking forward to next year, 1/20/11 – 1/30/11!

Tonight, I was watching Dateline NBC’s special on residents at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH). It was like going home.
I forgot how much I missed that place – seeing all the units again and remembering the day Mom drove me to the front door for my first ever (really) job interview.
It was also kind of bitter-sweet because 11 years today is the day that my Dad passed away. I was in Arkansas at the time working at ACH. I left to come back home (to Wisconsin) 3 months later. Honestly, I think or rather I know, it was a decision that changed the course of my life in so many ways.
Wow, how things have changed in 11 years.
Funny how one little Dateline episode can bring back so many memories, isn’t it?
