On December 2nd, after my 4-day conference for work in Atlanta, GA,
Karen, Erin, Jenny and I took a girls weekend trip to Salt Lake City,
UT. Our trip started out with Karen and Rin meeting me at the airport as
I flew in from Atlanta. We had dinner at "the rat place" which I will
never do again:) We played cards on the plane and kept each other
rolling with laughter.
Once we got to UT, Karen's sisters and brother-in-law picked us up and
we headed out. We met up with a friend of Mark's who took us to a little
gathering in SLC. We almost took a road trip to Vegas but decided we'd
have been on crack to drive 6 hours and back that night. We drove to
Provo and spent the night at Christy and Matt's house (thanks guys!).
That's where the unconventional means of keeping warm began.
Saturday, we were treated to Lindsay Wilson's bridal shower. It was a
blast. We did some damage in the stores later that afternoon which
helped fill our 12 suitcases. Seriously, had you seen how many suit
cases we had you would have thought we were moving there! That night we
went to see the dance show BYU's Christmas Around the World. It was
beautiful.
Sunday, we headed to church with the Coon sisters and then went up to
SLC for the First Presidency Devotional. We checked in at the Hilton and
got some good napping in before we ran around on Sunday night at Temple
Square. I don't remember the last time I laughed so much as I did on
Saturday and Sunday. I ended up crying I was laughing so hard!
Monday, we awoke to Jenny laughing in her sleep, Rin falling off the
bed, Karen working;) and my subtle snoring. LOL. We were quite the
group. We headed back home on Monday night the same way we flew
in...playing cards.
